Alta, Utah skier Tara Hines takes the 2016 Kästle "MX98" out for a spin at Snowbasin Resort in Utah in this video ski review on SkiGearTV.
The2016 Kästle MX98 is available in the following lengths:
174, 184, 194
2016 Kaestle MX98 ski DIMENSIONS:
Length Weight Radius
174 cm 2125 g/ski 24 m
184 cm 2245 g/ski 27 m
194 cm 2365 g/ski 30 m
Tip 132 mm
Waist 98 mm
Tail 117 mm
Kästle HOLLOWTECH:
With the help of the HOLLOWTECH technology the ski‘s running characteristics is improved. The cutout section in the shovel leads to a reduced weight of the freely vibrating zone by almost 15 %. The resulting lower inertia moments optimize the retraction behavior of the ski. This means that after an impact the shovel returns much faster to the stable condition, enabling the ski to keep its track much more precisely. Hollowtech creates even greater weight savings on the TX touring skis. And the Dual Hollowtech on the XX Twintip skis, allows for the fastest rotation and most controllable spin.
WAIST 98 MM:
Exceptional handling in powder, combined with impressive frontside skiing performance. The ski's running surface gains about 48% in comparison with a classic frontside ski.
SKI GEOMETRY:
The ELLIPTICAL RADIUS enables sharp and sporty turns at slower skiing speeds, while still allowing for stable and confident, wide-open ski turns when conditions permit.
WOOD CORE:
The 2016 Kastle MX98 ski strives for more versatile skiing performance and, as such, a mix of ash and silver fir is used to construct the ski's wood core. This combination offers weight savings without compromising ski stability.
FEATURES:
With a 0.5 titanal base sheet and a 0.5 mm titanal top sheet, stability is optimized with a minimal weight increase. The HOLLOWTECH at the ski shovel delivers further weight reduction.
WEAR PROTECTION:
A 45°aluminium bevel at the surface of the ski distributes impacts and protects against mechanical wear.
