With each new season, Völkl engineers work night and day to bring the absolute pinnacle of ski performance to the market.
2015 Völkl "Code Speedwall L UVO":
Now with UVO, the "Code Speedwall L" ski is wider than a race ski for added versatility, with a deep sidecut for intense skiing turns on the groomers. With a new wood core, rMotion2 with Marker XCell componentry, and tip and tail rocker, the
new Codes are the ultimate frontside cruiser skis.
SIDECUT = 122_76_105
LENGTH & (RADIUS) = 164 (15.3),
171 (16.9),
178 (18.6),
185 (20.3)
CORE TYPE = Speedwall 2.0 Core
CONSTRUCTION = Power Construction, Powered by Titanium with Speedwall 2.0
"UVO" = (Ultimate Vibration Object) is the first application of free-floating, 360° vibration absorbing technology to minimize disruptive ski vibration. Vibration inherently arises when skis interact with bumpy terrain. The ski's tip, in particular, is set in motion in all directions, all at once. UVO technology delivers proven reduction of these vibrations, delivering a quieter ride. The key differentiation between UVO and other damping systems is the fact that in addition to longitudinal ski vibrations, it also addresses torsional and lateral ski vibrations. New for 2015, UVO is featured on all models in the Racetiger and Code series.
"POWER CONSTRUCTION" = Völkl's longest-running construction, Power Construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used in racing skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this versatile, proven construction provides tremendous grip and stability when combined with the Sensorwood core.
"TIP & TAIL SKI ROCKER" =
WHAT IT IS: A slight rocker bend in the tip and tail, complemented by traditional camber under foot.
WHAT IT DOES: With a slight rocker in the tip and tail, combined with a classic ski camber profile under the foot, Völkl engineers have created the ideal blend for frontside ski carving. Easy, smooth turn entry and exit, with acceleration and skiing rebound as well. While not as maneuverable in soft snow as our full rocker designs, this rocker design is best utilized on hard snow.
