Designed for aggressive backcountry or big mountain skiing, the Backland 109 delivers improved floatation and touring efficiency in a lightweight, low-impact construction. The FreeTour Profile uses more poplar wood, less metal, less fiberglass, and less resin to create a more balanced flex for dynamic performance. The 109mm waist combined with a lightweight HRZN 3D tip provides greater floatation in deep snow, while an ash insert under the binding increases security. The Ultra Light Woodcore of poplar and caruba wood creates the perfect balance between low weight and optimal performance. The Powder Rocker offers a pronounced tip and tail, with camber underfoot for effortless and playful maneuverability in powder, choppy, and crusty snow. By using more low-carbon raw materials, the design reduces environmental waste and equivalent CO2 emissions by 26% (compared to the Backland 100, 2022). Inspired by Chris Rubens, it embodies the ideal balance between performance and weight, making it an ideal freeride touring ski.
